Epitalon Peptide
Epitalon (Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) derived from the naturally occurring peptide Epithalamin, known for its role in regulating the pineal gland and telomerase activity. Research suggests that Epitalon promotes telomere elongation, potentially delaying cellular senescence and extending lifespan (Khavinson et al., 2003). It has been shown to modulate melatonin secretion, improve circadian rhythms, and enhance antioxidant defense mechanisms (Anisimov et al., 2006). Studies indicate its potential benefits in aging, immune function, and neuroprotection, though further clinical trials are necessary to validate its therapeutic applications.
