PT-141 Peptide
PT-141 (Bremelanotide) is a synthetic melanocortin receptor agonist derived from alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), primarily targeting MC3R and MC4R to modulate sexual arousal and desire (Diamond et al., 2006). Originally developed for tanning, it demonstrated pro-sexual effects by acting on the central nervous system rather than the vascular system (Wilkinson et al., 2012, Kingsberg, S. A., et al. 2019.
