BPC-157
BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide derived from body protection compound (BPC), a protein found in gastric juice. It has demonstrated significant wound-healing, anti-inflammatory, and cytoprotective properties in preclinical models (Sikiric et al., 2018). Research indicates its potential in gastrointestinal healing, musculoskeletal injury repair, and neuroprotection by modulating angiogenesis, nitric oxide pathways, and growth factor expression (Pevec et al., 2021). BPC-157 has shown promise in mitigating damage from NSAIDs and promoting tendon and ligament regeneration (Chang et al., 2011). While preclinical data are promising, clinical trials are needed to confirm its therapeutic applications in humans.
