Adipotide FTPP
Adipotide (FTPP) is an experimental peptidomimetic that selectively induces apoptosis in adipose tissue vasculature, leading to fat loss. It targets prohibitin receptors on white adipose tissue blood vessels, disrupting their function and reducing fat mass in preclinical models (Barnhart et al., 2011). Studies in obese non-human primates showed significant weight loss without affecting lean mass, suggesting potential for obesity treatment (Kolonin et al., 2004). Further research is required to assess its safety and efficacy for clinical applications. (Xie et al., 2011)
