IGF-1 LR3 (Receptor Grade) Peptide
IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 Insulin-like Growth Factor-1) is a synthetic analogue of IGF-1 with a modified N-terminal extension, reducing IGF-binding protein affinity and increasing biological activity (Ibrahim et al., 2018). It promotes muscle hypertrophy, neuroprotection, and tissue repair by stimulating protein synthesis and cellular proliferation via the PI3K-Akt pathway (Yakar et al., 2002). IGF-1 LR3 exhibits extended half-life and enhanced receptor affinity, making it a potential candidate for muscle wasting disorders and injury recovery. However, concerns about mitogenic activity and cancer risk necessitate further clinical research.
